Creating animated loops to be used for Vista DreamScene

Lately I've been getting more and more requests for the video file of my dream instead of the dream file.  When I first started, I had no problem with this, but now, I have many more dreams, and thus, have more requests.  Sure, I can take the time to upload all my dreams as videos to some file sharing site, but then once I send someone the link, it potentially becomes available to the whole world for download without giving me credit.  As I invest more time into this hobby of mine, I feel I need to protect my work somewhat and that is what the dream format is trying to do.  So, I'm sorry to say that I'm no longer going to provide my dreams as video files.

I have to say, that I'm surprised this hasn't already been done for wallpapers.  Seems like it would be a great addition to have several resolutions of wallpapers in one file along with author info instead of downloading a zip file.

as deskscapes is at the moment ppl can extract the video anyway,so if someone wanted to use they could.
maybe deskscapes 2 will be different.

One way I can see to protect them is for Stardock to encrypt the extracted video. Or possibly use a hidden directory and / or have the program delete the temp directory once another dream is selected.
I can understand Master Baron's concern as I'm sure that he has put in many hours into creating the Master dreams he has released. Currently Stardock has the ability to have their Master line of products serial number protected and it would be nice for them to extend that ability to the other Masters that sell their products through them.

Why not provide the video with a watermark?

Putting some sort of logo in your video, like tv stations do, might be a way.
But I would like to see the video being encrypted in some way. Maybe it would be possible to extract the file to memory instead of harddisk. Of course a hacker could always get at the video, there will always be video data send to the display. But just putting the video in a directory doesn't feel very secure.

Good idea to extend that to wallpapers, though.

Dear Master Baron

I am teaching environmental chemistry at the university (http://www.uqtr.ca/Cours.Sylvain.Robert) and the two animations "GoodNightEarth" and "SolarFlare" would be nice additions to my introduction chapter about earth's environment in the solar system. And since the computers in the classroom at the university are all running on Windows XP SP2 I cannot use the files

Can you help me. Contact me offline for confidentiality agreements if you want.

Thanks and best regards

Sylvain Robert

p.s. I did purchased the download of the Good Night Earth dream file
